Garry Polley is a Mathematics and Computer Science Major at Truman State University. He first discovered the geckomathematics project while on a visit day to Truman State. Garry noticed a poster describing the ways in which Korean Mathematics were taught. At the time Garry found this information very interesting but did not know of his future involvement in the program. Upon arriving on campus the fall of his freshman year, while meeting with another professor, Garry was recommended, based on his interest in the geckomathematics poster, to seek out Dr. Janice Grow. Upon meeting with Dr. Grow, Garry became involved with the project and has worked with the program ever since.
Involvement
Once starting with the project, Garry began to take translated lessons in word document form and transform them into a web document form. After doing this for a few months Garry then was assigned to "revamp" the site as it was. With guidance from Dr. Grow and Ryan, Garry began to split the very long pages containing every bit of information into smaller pages. In other words, he took the pages and divided them into smaller more readable pages. During all of this reformatting and creating web document forms Garry has also edited some of the mathematical content to make the information more readable and understandable to parents, teachers, and students.
